Kidcam Summer Camps Earns ACA-Accredited Camp Status
NEW ORLEANS – The American Camp Association® (ACA) announced today that Kidcam Camps Greater New Orleans have received ACA-Accredited® Camp status for 2018. Kidcam Camps is only one of two summer camp companies in the State of Louisiana to be accredited by the ACA.

“ACA Accreditation means that Kidcam Camps submitted to a thorough (up to 300 standards) review of its operation by the American Camp Association (ACA) — from staff qualifications and training to emergency management — and complied with the highest standards in the industry,” said Cindy Moore, National Standards Commission.

“Parents expect their children to attend accredited schools. They also deserve a camp experience that is reviewed and accredited by an expert, independent organization,” Moore said.

“Kidcam Camps and ACA form a partnership that promotes summers of growth and fun in an environment committed to safety,” said Mario Bazile, Owner, “ACA accreditation demonstrates our commitment to quality camp programming.”

Kidcam had to demonstrate sound practices in every aspect of camp management and operation, including quality programs and activities, safety, health and wellness, transportation, swim training, CPR and first aid, exceptional staff and human resource policies.

“Sending your child to camp is one of the greatest things you can do for them,” said Bazile. “While your child will enjoy a summer camp environment filled with fun, you can enjoy the peace of mind that comes from knowing how hard Kidcam works year-round to incorporate the highest standards of safety, growth and learning into the daily routine.”

Kidcam Camps Greater New Orleans was founded in 1974 and has camp locations in the following cities: New Orleans, Metairie, Kenner, Gretna, Destrehan, LaPlace, Slidell, Mandeville, Covington and Hammond. The company is in operation year-round with 100% focus on creating amazing summer experiences for children. ACA is the only independent accrediting organization reviewing camp operations in the country. ACA’s nationally recognized standards program focuses primarily on the program quality, health and safety aspects of a camp’s operation. ACA collaborates with experts from the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American Red Cross, and other youth-serving agencies to assure that current practices at the camp reflect the most up-to-date, research-based standards in camp operation.
